   I plan to use 88 special as LCR behind AT screen. The room is not very long so I want to minimize the space wasted behind the screen. The plan is to mount them on the wall. Is the crossover in 88 special designed for wall mount?

   Yes, the 88-Special was designed to be on the wall or very close to it. What you're wanting to do is pretty much exactly what they were designed for, and why they're so shallow.
