I recently found a set of AR18s speakers at a garage sale in pretty good condition. Getting home with them it became obvious that someone had replaced the original woofers with some manner of no-name poly cone woofers of equivalent diameter. They sound pretty good as is, but I would much rather return to factory, or install a replacement woofer that is known to be a good replacement for the factory set. Any recommendations for replacement woofers in a AR18s running the factory original crossover? Alternatively, I could modify the crossover, but I don't want to get away from the "minimal crossover" design these speakers are known for. Thanks. Any leads would be appreciated.
