I was looking around for a project and decided to replace my 20 year old Sony satellite HT speakers, starting with the front 4 channels and the sub.

I purchased DIY Sound Group's Fusion-6 MT and MTM speaker flatpacks as well as a Dayton Audio 10" Reference Series HO Subwoofer and Cabinet Bundle from Parts Express. (I think those are made by erich as well.

I replaced the flat (non-CNC) visible bits of the flatpacks with bamboo plywood of the appropriate thickness and added a little joinery and dowel pins.

Someday soon, I plan to paint the MDF gloss black and simply oil the bamboo.

Sounds great and I think it turned out pretty well.

They look great! I like the way you did the bamboo joints and dowels... very nice.

They look great. How do they sound for movies? I am thinking of building the same kit. For the subwoofer did you get amplifier with the kit as well?

    Thanks.
