Reference Level: AVR Power?

  1. Just wondering what AVR Power means in the reference level specs with respect to "max rated amplifier power". Does this just stand for "Audio Video Receiver," i.e. based on average consumer-grade AV Receivers powered at ~100W vs. a 200W specialty amp?

  2. Yeah it's a basic estimate on what kind of distances you can expect to reach reference levels with an AV receiver that will output 100-150w vs. a larger power amp capable of delivering the speaker's rated program power level.

Depending on how live or dead the room is and the exact power rating of the AV receiver the actual achievable distance for reference level playback may vary.
